Winter 2024

12 | LUXlife Magazine Best Parenting Workshops Provider 2024 - USA Susan (Sue) Groner is the woman behind The Parenting Mentor, a company that works with a number of leading organizations – including Deloitte, Google, and DoorDash – to support their parent and caregiver employees across their home and work lives. In her role as The Parenting Mentor, Sue offers a number of unique strategies and insights that all revolve around reducing the stresses and anxieties that inevitably stem from raising children, particularly while developing a career. A mother herself, Sue Groner is well aware of the challenges parenting may bring. This is why she has developed a range of strategies to help parents excel when it comes to striking a balance between being a good parent and being successful across other elements of their lives, including work. Having also written a book, Parenting with Sanity & Joy: 101 Simple Strategies, and hosted her own podcast called The Parenting Mentor Sessions, Sue covers all bases to reach as many parents as possible. Renowned for the workshop-based sessions she provides to parents in corporations throughout the USA, Sue’s signature offering is also entitled ‘Parenting with Sanity & Joy’ and serves as an overview of exactly how her services can help parents. Sue’s work also takes the form of casual chats, which can be done either virtually or in person depending on location, as well as question-and-answer sessions spanning parenthood in its entirety. Besides this, Sue works with parents on a one-to-one basis and in small groups and has even served as a guest speaker at a number of events across the country. Operating at convenient times, parents can also contact Sue for quick strategies and advice on the specific issues or challenges they are currently facing. Finally, keen to give back to her community, Sue delivers all of these services to such non-profit organizations as Malta House, a local women’s shelter, and the nearby Bedford Hills Correctional Facility. Across all of the services and strategies that The Parenting Mentor provides, the common thread is that Sue refuses to tell parents what they must do, and instead prioritizes helping them to be happier and more relaxed. The results speak for themselves, and watching the change in her clients, as they begin to take back control of their lives, is a sight Sue will never tire of. It is unsurprising then that the feedback she receives is outstanding, with one client even telling Sue: “You’re better than our therapist!” As a small business owner, with just a few contractors that she has hired to help with her social media pages and podcast, Sue is able to easily dictate the approach that the business takes. This frees Sue’s time up and results in sessions conducted in a relaxed, transparent, and supportive way. Working closely with companies is relatively new for Sue as she initially worked to support individual parents. What has changed is that companies are slowly but surely beginning to recognize how important it is to support their employees who are also parents, and this is where Sue comes in to offer them holistic guidance that can transform their personal and professional lives. On the back of this, Sue has secured a number of high-profile contracts in recent months, including being hired by Deloitte’s M&A Parenting ERG (Employee Resource Group) for a series of regular sessions for this year and into 2025, as well as being hired for her first international job which saw her services provided to a division of Google based in Dublin, Ireland. “Most of my time is booked through the end of the year,” Sue enthuses, knowing she is making a real difference in the lives of parents everywhere. As for her more long-term plans, Sue is currently in talks with a number of new companies that are seeking to add programming and content to their existing parenting ERGs, particularly interactive talks, encompassing workshops, and flexible office hours that Sue offers through The Parenting Mentor. Providing her clients with everything from a safe space to talk to workshops that see likeminded parents connected and supported, Susan Groner, The Parenting Mentor, is providing outstanding experiences to those navigating the most difficult yet rewarding job in the world – raising a child.
