On the back of this win, we profiled Maple Leaf Weddings and spoke to Pennie Limming to discover more about the exceptional services they provide to their clients. Most of the weddings that they organise are bespoke, tailored specifically to each couple - although they do offer some packages. Going into further detail about Maple Leaf Weddings, Pennie begins by explaining the services they provide, specifically within the wedding market. “Here at Maple Leaf Weddings, we provide our clients with everything from pre-planning, on the day organisation through to help with honeymoon/holiday plans in Ontario. We will even colour match dresses with flowers – we have a sneaky method to do this. We use paint colour charts if it is not possible to use the actual fabric!” When discussing the wedding industry at present, Pennie points out the developments which have recently been affecting the sector, but also highlights the ways in which Maple Leaf Weddings have adapted around these changes. 1810LU02 “We do not have a production line of weddings on a beach, where choices are limited to one spot, pre-designated times and standard florals. Instead, we start by getting to know each couple, their hobbies, music tastes, their work, favourite colours, their favourite time of year, places on their bucket list. Then, we ask what they do not want. Finally, we ask them what their dream day would be. From there, we put forward ideas to suit them in locations and at the time of year that will suit them. A truly personalised service. Bringing the interview to a close, Pennie reflects on what it meant to her to have been selected in LUXlife’s 2018 Ones to Watch in the Wedding Industry as the Most Outstanding Wedding Planner – Ontario. “To have been selected was a bit surreal if I am honest. I do a job that I love to do, in a country which I love, and hopefully, I make people happy.” Looking ahead to what the future holds, Pennie does not foresee any major developments within the industry but will continue to do what they do and aim to be the best at doing it.
