LUX Xmas 2018
66 GITC (Spanish acronyms of Constructive Technology Innovation Group) is a multidisciplinary organisation of professionals and technicians, through which the development and execution of various construction projects is integrated; from the detail of coatings of native woods, to complex clinics or industrial centres. Recently, we profiled GITC and spoke to Corporate Directors – Architects, Felipe Vera Buschmann and Rodrigo Belmar Expósito who revealed more about the award-winning firm. Originally born as an architecture office in 2006, GITC have yearly integrated vertically, with the aim of being able to deliver integral solutions to their clients, whilst being able to cover the global management of a project; from the order or need; until the work, turnkey, working. As for the clients that they serve, they have four well-defined niches: family homes (for natural persons), second homes (holiday homes), clinical and institutional buildings, and residential buildings (for real estate). Felipe begins by going in to further detail about how the team at GITC ensure they deliver the best possible service to their clients. “Here at GITC, we have complemented the architecture with engineering and construction. In this way, we can adapt the service-product, according to the different requirements of the client; being able to be in a link or in the complete chain of the construction industry.” Helping the firm to deliver the best possible services to their clients, is the talented team which form the backbone of GITC. Rodrigo is keen to highlight how he ensures that each member of the team are well-aware of the firm’s main goal. “At GITC, we ensure that all of our team members are tuned to achieve our sublime goal of delivering a highly specialised, high quality service, with a strong focus on sustainability and sustainability (environmental, social and economic). Also, we are integrators and developers of technology who work to improve the quality of life in contemporary living. “In addition, our personnel selection process is strict, and we are constantly evaluating the performance of all of our employees. Over the years, we have had professionals from across the world work with us. This has allowed us to have a global vision and heterogeneity of our discipline.” When discussing the future developments within the industry, Felipe informs us of the how GITC are equipped to adapt around these changes. “Industrialisation is strongly entering into construction in Chile. Therefore, we are adapting to this trend; opening a new line in GITC that is focused on prefabrication and can offer standardised products, but according to each requirement, both from the customers, as well as the place where they are implemented.” Looking ahead to what the future holds for the firm, Rodrigo signs off by revealing the exciting plans which lie in the pipeline for GITC following their recent success in LUXlife’s Leading Designers 2018 Awards where they were righteously awarded the accolade of Most Innovative Architecture Firm – Chile. “Moving forward, we have several projects in the folder. Within the disruptive projects; we have a very interesting one that is MoMaS (from the acronym in Spanish of Sustainable Maximisation Module). It is a prefabricated habitable module to inhabit Inhospitable or difficult to access places. It is mounted in a helicopter, rests on 95% of the planet’s surface, generates its water and energy, separates black water and recycles 100% of its grey water, withstands extreme climatic conditions and can be dismantled whenever you want, leaving 0 % impact on the ground where it landed. “This project is currently in the stage of simulations, prototyping and search of funds (national and international). We are developing some systems by internal and integrating others that are already developed in the world. “Overall, it is a very attractive project and we believe that it will break the current paradigm of inhabiting.” Contact Name: Felipe Vera Buschmann & Rodrigo Belmar Expósito Company Name: GITC (Constructive Technology Innovation Group) Address: Av.
