Sapphire Styling : Creating that Picture-Perfect Wedding Look
Sapphire Styling specialises in bridal and occasion hair styling and makeup in Dorset and the surrounding counties. Following their success in the 2019 Ones to Watch in the Wedding Industry programme, where they were named ‘Dorset’s Most Outstanding for Wedding Hair Styling’, we spoke with Sapphire Styling’s Owner, Wendy Peart, to find out more about their work and inspirations.
Wedding days are one of the most special of a person’s life. As such expectations are sky-high, demanding a need for perfection across the board. Whether it is the venue, the dress, the food or the decoration, everything needs to be carefully considered. Everything needs to be just right.
Over the years, no doubt growing alongside the social media explosion, a need for picture-perfect hair and makeup has become a crucial part of wedding day preparations. As such, any would-be Bride needs an expert in the industry. An expert that can guarantee that they will look their very best on this most special of days. With over twenty-five years’ experience in hair-dressing, Wendy has become a go-to for many Brides who are looking for that all-important finishing touch. “Alongside my expert team, we either travel to bridal parties, or clients come to our studio for trials. As part of the job we go to beautiful venues across Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire.”
The key to Sapphire Styling’s success has, and will always be, their ability to listen to their clients. After all, the importance of communication in this industry can never really be overestimated. It doesn’t matter how good you are at a certain thing if you aren’t capturing, at the end of the day, what the client wants. Personalisation and customisation are the cornerstones of the wedding industry, as Wendy explains further. “Providing the best possible service to clients relies on listening to what
the clients wants. That’s why the initial consultation is so important! On the other side, experience and product knowledge plays a crucial role, allowing you to provide an excellent service with high standards.”
This ability to realise a client’s vision becomes ever more important when you consider the swiftly changing nature of the wedding industry. As fashions and trends come and go, skills and talents remain, unchanging and irreplaceable. Nonetheless, Wendy sees changes in the wedding industry as opportunities to learn and develop. “The wedding industry is always changing styles and things go around and come back into fashion. I’ve been doing it for many years, and been in the bridal industry for ten years, but, its important to keep learning. If you have the correct training it is easy to keep apace of these changes.”
Wendy continues, moving to discuss one of the most prominent trends of the season. “Boho is huge right now. Think modern bohemian relaxed brides with beachy waves and beautiful flower crows – we love it! Apart from bohemian, we are also seeing a new demand for elegant vintage styling.”
Finally, Wendy moves to discuss the future of the studio as they look to expand their team and grow to meet a growing need in the area for expert stylists. “We are building the Sapphire Styling team: I’ll be training new hair stylists and makeup artists. It’s very exciting! I am expanding but making sure to teach them my way to make sure that every client continues to get the hair that they dreamed of.”
Sapphire Styling is a stockist for hair extensions and Arbonne cosmetics. The studio is based just outside of Wimborne in Dorset, and is a fullyequipped mini salon with a wide range of hair accessories and fullystocked makeup area.
