Hi, I’m Krista, I am based in Northern Tasmania and I am a certified birth and postpartum doula. Doula comes from the Greek word meaning a woman caregiver who serves – someone supportive and caring. As a I doula provide my clients with educational , emotional and physical support before, during and after birth. A doulas primary and unique role is to encourage the birthing woman’s self confidence. Whilst every member of the birthing team play an integral role in assisting the woman to birth her baby, the doula is there to be the mother’s constant companion ,support the partner and is comfortable and confident with the birthing process. Preparing and giving them the confidence to know that they can achieve a positive birth experience. I continue my support into the postpartum ,mothering the mother so she in turn can care for her family.
