As classically trained chefs at St. Lanarkshire College - day I retired as Primary Head Teacher began this - we are passionate about sourcing, seasonal ingredients and passing on the preserving skills and techniques to the next generation. We are very proud of our Langholm farming heritage and family recipes which we have updated and have a unique modern flavour.
We have tailored our business model to suit the niche high end hospitality market to www.braeheadfoods.co.uk who supply our Perfyit Piccalilli in their ‘Made by Chefs for Chefs’ as 1kg foodservice throughout the UK. We also make jars and tubs for local retail customers.
The pandemic has affected us, many others and our customers. By collaborating and adapting to meet the challenges we make smaller orders and are using social media to promote and tap into new customers, suppliers and promote our present customers as well as our wholesaler’s Zoom Cook School who used our product for an event. Fabulous!
By updating our website with SM links and our customer and supplier websites it has enabled us to make jars to order for local customers’ cafes, restaurant take always and hamper orders. Some even deliver our jars to each other.
