Sandhaven & Pitullie Harbour Trust

In 1999, the Trust was registered as a Company Limited By Guarantee, with the aim to set about the work needed to develop this much admired harbour. Spearheading a community project with local support, the Trust aims to work for the community to develop the 14 acre (3.5ha) site.

The company has been formed to benefit the community of Sandhaven & Pitullie following objects:

(1) To repair, maintain, conserve and preserve Sandhaven and Pitullie Harbour through the necessary rebuilding and restoration thereof.

(2) To advance public education concerning the history of Sandhaven and its former neighbouring community Pitullie.

(3) To advance public education generally and to provide, or assist in the provision of, facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation.

(4) To relieve those in need by the promotion of trade and industry for the benefit of the general public.

(5) To promote, and/or provide training and skills of all kinds particularly such skills that will assist residents of Sandhaven and its environs in obtaining paid employment

(6) To promote, establish, operate and/or support other similar schemes and projects of a charitable nature for the benefit of the community. But such that the company shall do so following principles of sustainable development.
