We heard more from Regional Marketing Director Maya Nottage, in the wake of Nassau Cruise Port’s record-breaking year. “Every guest deserves a warm Bahamian welcome and an experience that reflects the very best of our destination.” The gateway to The Bahamas, Nassau Cruise Port is one of the busiest transit ports in the world, welcoming 6.1 million passengers in 2025. Since launching management of Prince George Wharf in October 2019, Nassau Cruise Port has undergone a $300 million transformation led by a consortium comprising of Global Ports Holding, the world’s largest cruise port operating company. Today, Nassau Cruise Port is more than a landing point; it is a vibrant waterfront destination designed to deliver an exceptional first and last impression of The Bahamas. With six new and expanded berths to accommodate the largest cruise ships in the world, a 700-foot mega yacht berth, a new marina, and a new water excursion and ferry terminal, it is anticipated that this revitalised port will generate an estimated $16 billion for the Bahamian economy over the next 25 years. The recently upgraded waterfront now features over 60 retail stores, including new food and beverage outlets, the Bahamas Museum of Junkanoo, a wine bar and art gallery, and a 3,000-person amphitheatre that currently features top Bahamian and international entertainment. Other notable additions to the port include the addition of an iconic new arrivals terminal, new outposts for the Royal Bahamas Police Force and the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, a new Ground Transportation Area to support smooth taxi and tour operations, a hair braiders pavilion, and a signature event space overlooking the harbour.
