We caught up with Joanna Lopez as we looked for further insight into the designs of the company, which has been selected in LUX’s 2018 Leading Designers Awards as the Most Outstanding for Interior Decoration within North London. Based in London, Monaco Interiors specialises in residential and commercial design, and the team prides itself on the highest standards of interior decoration, working only with the best trades and materials available. Working with efficient and professional tradespeople and craftsmen, the team endeavours to implement its clients’ design in the fastest and least disruptive means possible. Joanna explained what qualities she believes makes for both excellent design and designers, emphasising how important it is to listen to clients and pay the utmost attention to detail. “The most important quality for a designer to have is the ability to listen, understand and process detail. It is all in the detail and the detail is what makes all the difference, both for us and for our clients.” When undertaking a new client or project, Joanna believes that it is vital that the team can gain a true understanding of what the client wants. Satisfying the client and exceeding their expectations is crucial in the design industry, and Joanna discussed what methods the team uses to ensure the best possible outcome. “Here at Monaco Interiors, we make sure we understand our client, as our job is to translate their vision into reality. We find out their hobbies, passions, likes and dislikes in order to ensure the final design is something they will fall in love with.” 1804LU24 Establishing itself as a leader within the design industry, particularly in North London, Monaco Interiors has been able to set itself apart from other designers, and there are many aspects which attract clients to work with the team. Joanna commented on what clients like the most about working with the firm, as well as referring to the creative and innovative solutions which have helped the team to maintain its ongoing success in the sector. “Clients enjoy working with us because of the speed and accuracy in which we work to. Previously, we have designed a concept for 185-room hotel with video renders in just two weeks. Important to our success is the fact that we are a team of not only interior designers but architects and landscapers also; this gives the client the luxury of a full service of building, internal and landscaping design making everything in house. The team is very structured, and formulas and procedures are fundamental in making any process work. We have a fabulous team and we are like a family in our bond where trust, honesty and transparency is what gifts us with great communication, fundamental in any design company.” Having completed an assortment of high profile projects, Joanna and the team at Monaco Interiors have achieved overwhelming success, including being named as the Most Outstanding for Interior Decoration within North London. Recently, the firm completed a 18,000 sqm residential project in Eastern Europe, and is fully deserving of all the success that has come its way. In her concluding comments, Joanna mentioned how it feels to have been selected for this award, and predicted what the future holds for the company, hinting at possibly exploring the firm’s roots and exploring some projects in South America. “Ultimately, it is an honour to be recognised by such a great magazine and it gives us the motivation to excel and build on our previous work. All of our work is international, and at present, our projects are in Georgia and China.
