Hospitality Awards 2026

12 | LUXlife Magazine Caronal House LLC (Casa Cardonal or the casa) is a luxury villa on the shore of the East Cape of Baja California, Mexico. Owned and operated by Michael and Becky Hall, the property was built in 2005 as a family retreat, the casa is now open to visitors for them to experience the luxury and tranquillity that the area has to offer. The beautiful five-bedroom home consists of the casa and a smaller casita, both of which boast extensive indoor and outdoor living spaces on the quiet beachfront, with direct access to the stunning beach and the Sea of Cortez. The internal space of Casa Cardonal is tastefully decorated and thoughtfully laid out, with several bedrooms housing ensuite facilities. There is a living room, gourmet kitchen, dining area, whilst the Casita boasts two ensuite bedrooms along with a living room, kitchenette and dining area. The property benefits from Starlink internet and extensive video streaming services, with access to all major sports channels. These are relatively new services for Casa Cardonal and are far superior to what was available previously. Outside, there is a palapa with seating and a dining pit, along with two further outdoor eating areas, for alfresco meals. A heated infinity pool with a large shallow apron is excellent for adults and small children, whilst a large Jacuzzi hot tub is perfect for an evening of relaxation before a good night's sleep. It is not uncommon to spot a whale or two frolicking in the Sea of Cortez whilst enjoying life from the hot tub! The quiet beach outside the property is often deserted, meaning guests can walk for miles and barely see another person, whilst the sea is often calm still – ideal for swimming and, at times, even warmer than the water in the infinity pool! The casa has its own fishing boat (the Super Panga!) which guests have full access and use of throughout their trip, along with boat captain, Mino. Fishing gear is available for excursions, and other trips out to see more of the surrounding area can be arranged with the casa staff, including: day trips to Cabo, La Paz or Todos Santos; excursions to the freshwater pools in Santiago; whale watching tours in February/March/April to Bahia Magdalena; and snorkelling at Cabo Pulmo. The sea life found in the Sea of Cortez is abundant and quite stunning, with whales cruising past the casa from January through to March. Best Private Beachfront Estate 2026 - Baja California Sur Located beachfront on Mexico's tranquil Sea of Cortez, Casa Cardonal is an exquisite private estate with a pristine sandy beach, swimmable water, infinity pool and Jacuzzi. Casa Cardonal is the perfect destination for family gatherings, and large groups gathered for major birthday celebrations and anniversaries. The casa has abundant activities and private relaxation all combined at one truly beautiful location. We find out more from Owner, Michael Hall, as the company receives noteworthy recognition for its unique offering in the Hospitality Awards 2026. Mobula rays, closely related to manta rays, arrive by the hundreds of thousands during March and April and they can be seen leaping into the air and belly-flopping back down again. They do not bite or sting so kayaking out to them is great fun. Year-round, pelicans, frigates, turkey vultures, herons and hawks are common, whilst sealions live off the south tip of Cerralvo Island. Dolphins often come to play in the panga's wake, and sea turtles lay their eggs on the beach in front of the casa each year. Casa Cardonal is the perfect destination for a group of people who want abundant natural beauty and full services on a remote and pristine beachfront, be it intimate family gatherings, or large groups gathered for major birthday celebrations and anniversaries. The estate features dramatically open living space with spectacular views of the living sea. Whilst it may sound like paradise, what truly distinguishes Casa Cardonal, however, is the friendly, dedicated and accommodating team of staff that are on hand and always available to ensure that guests have everything they want or need during their stay. The team have worked together at the casa for more than 15 years, and are experienced at assisting visitors to ensure they have a perfect trip. First, you will find Mino, the caretaker and boat captain, who looks after the property and provides fishing and whale viewing excursions as and when desired. Also present is Maria, who provides daily maid services and helps with the catering, whilst Francesca provides authentic Baja meals
