4 | LUXlife Magazine High-end retailers in the global pre-owned luxury watch market are becoming increasingly concerned about the rise of sophisticated counterfeit watches, as so-called “superfakes” become harder to detect and lead to financial losses, according to new research1 from The Watch Register2, the world’s largest and most established international database of lost, stolen, and counterfeit luxury watches. The international study of pre-owned luxury watch retailers across the US, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East revealed growing unease about the scale and complexity of the counterfeit market. While confidence in existing detection processes remains relatively strong, with all respondents saying they are either very confident (44%) or quite Growing Retailer Concerns Over the Rise of “Superfakes” in the Luxury Watch Market • 34% of retailers expressed uncertainty in their ability to identify high-quality counterfeit timepieces • Just 3% of retailers reported that they do not consider stolen watches or high-quality counterfeits to be a risk to the secondary market • 280,000+ watches are now checked by The Watch Register on the global pre-owned watch market per year confident (56%) in their current authentication systems, the emergence of high-quality replicas is testing even experienced dealers. Two-thirds (66%) of retailers say they are confident they could identify a high-end counterfeit watch, however, nearly one in five (19%) admit they would not be able to do so, and a further group (15%) say they could only identify such “superfakes” some of the time. The findings suggest that even among professionals, uncertainty remains when faced with increasingly sophisticated fakes. Only 3% of retailers surveyed said they do not see stolen watches or high-quality counterfeits as a risk to the secondary market. The scale of concern is reflected in the financial impact already being felt by these retailers. One third (33%) reported financial losses as a result of a transaction involving a counterfeit watch over the past three years. Amongst those affected, repeat incidents are common, with seven in 10 of those businesses (69%) saying they had suffered losses on four or more occasions due to undetected counterfeit watches. The typical cumulative loss was estimated at approximately US$13,000, but 12% revealed losses at more than US$20,000. The findings point to a growing challenge for the pre-owned luxury watch market, where authenticity is critical and even a small number of counterfeit transactions can undermine both profitability and trust. Oliver Horner, Business Development Manager of The Watch Register, said: “Counterfeit watches have always been a concern, but what we are seeing now is a step change in quality. “Superfakes” are becoming increasingly convincing, making detection more difficult even for experienced professionals and causing financial loss to businesses. These watches are often accompanied by convincing boxes and papers or sold through trusted networks, creating a perception of authenticity. “While it is encouraging that retailers are investing in processes and tools to identify counterfeit watches, the fact that losses are still occurring, and often repeatedly, shows how sophisticated this market has become. Counterfeits undermine confidence across the entire pre-owned market, making robust and consistent due diligence more important than ever.” Background to The Watch Register database: In 2025 The Watch Register reached a landmark 5,000 lost and stolen watches identified since the service was founded more than a decade ago. In the past year alone, stolen watches identified by The Watch Register have been traced across 34 countries spanning North and South America, Europe, Asia, North Africa, Australia and the Middle East, underlining both the global scale of the problem and the reach of the platform. The Watch Register database, which offers a global 24/7 service, provides a simple way for purchasers of pre-owned watches to check if a watch offered for sale is reported lost, stolen, or counterfeit. The Watch Register combines complex computer algorithms with human expertise and intervention to actively identify lost, stolen, or counterfeit watches on the global pre-owned market. The database is used by watch dealers, jewellers, pawnbrokers and auction houses to identify stolen or counterfeit watches prior to transactions. From the moment a stolen watch is located, The Watch Register’s specialist recoveries team steps in to secure the watch and facilitate a recovery for the rightful owner. Fifty per cent of watches The Watch Register finds are located within a year of the theft and 35% within six months. One third of the stolen watches located by The Watch Register database are offered with box and papers, many of which are fake, therefore buyers should not assume that the presence of paperwork indicates legitimacy of ownership.

News International boutique hospitality group The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts is entering a new phase of growth with the opening of The First Cortina on 4 December 2026. This new 76-key property expands its European footprint and heralds the strategically significant evolution of its portfolio into three distinct, complementary brands. Reaffirming The Pavilions Group’s ability to develop remarkable properties through design, wellness and destination dining, The First Cortina builds on the success of the group’s contemporary luxury The First hotels in Rome. Alongside specialist wellness brand REVĪVŌ and experiential hotel and resort brand, The Pavilions, The First completes a complementary collection of brands, each offering a distinct platform for the group’s continued growth. The First Cortina’s rejuvenation of one of the most desirable addresses on the famous Corso Italia reflects a core philosophy at the heart of The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts: that the preservation of individuality and sense of place through world-leading design and hospitality expertise is paramount, whether breathing new life into legacy buildings or building anew. Across the portfolio, including at Casa Almagro, Madrid by The Pavilions and The First Rome by The Pavilions, the group has successfully transformed historic properties with a strong connection to their surroundings, blending local identity with contemporary design and international hospitality standards. An established track record in developing new-build properties meanwhile, including The Pavilions Phuket and The Pavilions Bali, demonstrates its prowess for creating highly individual hotels across different development models and destinations. Following the success of its predecessor at The First Dolce in Rome, a second outpost of exquisite pasticceria Velo complements The First Cortina’s signature restaurant, Zuma Cortina. Together, they further enhance The Pavilions’ reputation for crafting socially relevant dining destinations through international partnerships and proprietary culinary brands, building on other notable successes including ALTO in Italy and Phuket; Acquolina, the two-MICHELIN-starred restaurant at The First Arte; and NUTRIO, REVĪVŌ’s wellness-centred dining experience in Bali. Rooted in the fully integrated offering of REVĪVŌ Wellness Resort in Bali, The First Cortina represents a significant step forward in extending the group's specialist wellness and longevity brand across its wider portfolio. The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts expands European luxury and wellness portfolio with December opening of The First Cortina The hotel's 1,000 sqm REVĪVŌ Spa and Wellness facilities translate the brand's signature fusion of time-honoured healing traditions and modern evidence-led wellness into an authentically alpine setting, combining exceptional luxury facilities and state-of-the-art equipment, alongside selected wellness and recovery elements from its transformative sixpillar offering. It follows the successful introduction of REVĪVŌ Spa at Château de Fiac, thoughtfully adapted to its intimate château setting. Gordon Oldham, founder of The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts, commented, “We have always believed that the most compelling hotels have a strong sense of individuality and belonging to their surroundings. The First Cortina brings that philosophy to one of the world’s great alpine destinations, creating a contemporary social address shaped by design, dining and wellness.” An international boutique hospitality group focused on growing through ownership, management and franchise partnerships, The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts continues to explore suitable development opportunities across Europe and Asia, with a focus on distinctive properties and destinations where its brands can create long-term value for owners, partners and guests. "Our growth strategy is focused on building breadth and depth, as well as scale. The Pavilions, The First, and REVĪVŌ provide three distinct platforms from which to pursue opportunities across different destinations and segments, while allowing us to remain selective about the properties and partnerships we take on.” said Florence Wong, Chief Executive Officer of The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts. The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts portfolio comprises a diverse and decorated collection of 13 award-winning hotels and resorts across Asia and Europe. The Pavilions Phuket; The First Arte, Rome by The Pavilions; and REVĪVŌ Wellness Resort, Bali were each awarded One Key in the MICHELIN Guide for Hotels 2025. The Toren, Amsterdam by The Pavilions also secured its fourth consecutive ‘Best of the Best’ recognition in last year’s Tripadvisor® Travelers' Choice® awards, while The Pavilions Bali and The First Arte, Rome by The Pavilions were rated among the top 10 per cent of Tripadvisor listings worldwide. Bookings for The First Cortina by The Pavilions are now open for stays from 4 December 2026. The Cortina Premiere opening offer starts from EUR 663 (approx. GBP 568) per night based on two adults sharing, including exclusive privileges such as 15 percent off accommodation, daily breakfast and afternoon tea at Velo. 6 | LUXlife Magazine Bremont has undergone considerable change since it was founded by brothers Nick and Giles English in 2002. New collections, updated designs and a broader manufacturing operation have moved the company into a different stage of its development. That evolution has also made its earlier watches more interesting. Models that once sat in authorised dealers as current production pieces now represent a distinct period in modern British watchmaking. Some have been discontinued, others were produced in limited numbers, and several carry design features or historical connections that are unlikely to be repeated. For collectors prepared to look beyond the latest release, the earlier Bremont catalogue contains some of the company’s most distinctive work. A Recognisable Design Language Bremont established a clear identity relatively quickly. Its early watches were substantial, functional and heavily influenced by aviation. The cases, typography and dial layouts were generally designed around legibility and durability rather than following established luxury-watch conventions. The Trip-Tick case became one of the brand’s most recognisable features. Its multi-part construction allowed Bremont to combine different finishes and materials while creating a strong visual profile from the side of the watch. Hardened steel cases, chronometer-rated movements and practical complications reinforced the company’s position as a manufacturer of modern British tool watches. Models such as the ALT1-C, ALT1-Z, U-2 and Supermarine helped establish that identity. Although the collections varied in purpose, there was a consistent design language running through them. Earlier examples now feel closely connected to the period in which Bremont was building its reputation. This matters because watch brands rarely remain visually static. As collections are replaced and cases, movements and branding change, discontinued models become reference points for what came before. The Martin-Baker Partnership The relationship between Bremont and British ejection-seat manufacturer Martin-Baker remains one of the most credible collaborations in modern watchmaking. Martin-Baker approached Bremont in 2007 with the challenge of producing a mechanical watch capable of surviving the same Why Earlier Bremont Watches Deserve a Second Look demanding testing programme used for its ejection seats. The resulting watch was subjected to live ejection testing, extreme vibration, temperature changes, altitude simulation and exposure to salt fog. The MBI was reserved for pilots who had survived an ejection using a Martin-Baker seat. The MBII made the concept available to the wider public, retaining the distinctive coloured case barrel and protective construction. This was more substantial than a licensing agreement or a logo added to an existing dial. The testing requirements influenced the structure of the watch itself. That gives earlier Martin-Baker references a technical story that remains relevant long after their original release. Limited Editions With Historical Connections Bremont also became known for limited editions connected to significant events, individuals and machines. These watches often incorporated small amounts of original historical material. The Codebreaker was created with the Bletchley Park Trust and paid tribute to the people and machines involved in British wartime codebreaking. The Wright Flyer incorporated original material from the aircraft that completed the first successful powered flight in 1903. It also introduced Bremont’s BWC/01 movement, an important step in the company’s technical development. Other releases have celebrated HMS Victory, the P-51 Mustang, Concorde and Professor Stephen Hawking. Precious-metal versions were generally produced in considerably smaller quantities than their stainless-steel counterparts. Not every collector is drawn to watches containing historical material, but these editions are undeniably specific to Bremont. They reflect a period when the company regularly used watchmaking to connect mechanical objects with wider British stories. Collectors researching the current secondary market can view a selection of pre-owned Bremont watches, including discontinued and limited-production references that are no longer available through the standard retail network. Why Earlier Models Are Becoming More Distinct Bremont’s recent watches have introduced different case shapes, proportions, movements and collection structures. That does not make one period inherently better than another, but it creates a clearer separation between the company’s earlier output and its current direction.

Feature The original ALT1 chronographs, Martin-Baker models and historical limited editions now belong to a recognisable chapter in the brand’s history. Their appeal is based less on novelty and more on the fact that they represent designs Bremont may never produce in quite the same form again. Scarcity should still be treated carefully. A numbered case does not automatically make a watch desirable, and limited production does not guarantee rising values. Condition, specification, provenance and the strength of the underlying design remain more important than the number engraved on the caseback. However, genuine scarcity becomes more relevant when it is combined with a strong story, distinctive design and a complete original set. What Collectors Should Check Earlier Bremont references require the same careful assessment as any pre-owned mechanical watch. Service history is particularly important with chronographs and watches that have spent years in regular use. Buyers should check that the crown, pushers, bezel and date functions operate correctly and that the case has not been excessively polished. Original boxes, papers, certificates and accessories matter more with limited editions. Watches containing historical material may have additional documentation explaining their origin, while some special releases were supplied with presentation boxes or accessories specific to that model. The exact reference should also be confirmed. Visually similar Bremont watches can differ in case material, production quantity, movement and original specification. Precious-metal versions may be much rarer than the steel models most commonly seen for sale. A reputable retailer should clearly describe the watch’s condition, included accessories and relevant service history rather than relying solely on the reputation of the model. Collector Interest Without the Hype The case for earlier Bremont watches does not need exaggerated investment claims. Prices can rise or fall, and some models will always attract more demand than others. Their appeal is more straightforward. Bremont produced a number of technically interesting watches with a strong and recognisable design language. Its partnerships with aviation and engineering organisations carried genuine substance, while the best limited editions connected mechanical watches with important pieces of history. As the company continues to evolve, those earlier references become easier to assess on their own merits. They offer something different from both current Bremont production and the more predictable choices available from larger Swiss manufacturers. For collectors who value British watchmaking, practical engineering and unusual provenance, that makes them worthy of another look. MVS Watches is a UK pre-owned online watch retailer specialising in authenticated watches from Bremont and other established luxury brands.

8 | LUXlife Magazine Reagan Studios: Where Impact Meets Artistry Artists capturing life as it happens, the team of in-house cinematographers behind Reagan Studios set the benchmark for their work as being true art. Whether it is filming a wedding, a music video, a commercial, or a documentary on location, creativity is at the heart of this owner-operated videography studio in Williamsburg, Virginia, which does all of its own filming and editing. On the back of it being named the Wedding Videography Studio of the Year 2026 – USA, Keith Reagan, its VP and chief editor, shared more about this award-winning production company. Headed up by Collins Reagan, an internationallyacclaimed director and cinematographer, Reagan Studios is known throughout Virginia and beyond for its up-close-and-personal approach to shooting documentaries, music videos, commercial projects, and weddings. Behind every film it crafts is years of video strategy expertise, helping clients to reach their goals and the team to create something they can be proud of in the same breath. Unpacking some of the reasons behind Reagan Studios’ success in the wedding industry, Keith shared his pride in the fact that its in-house cinematographers are the only ones to attend the weddings - meaning every shoot gets the studio’s seal of approval. These very same people managing the entire process (from the filming to the editing) leads to intimate and deeply personal wedding reels that capture every couple in a way that a standard wedding photographer or third-party editing studio could never achieve. This feeds into the nature of the studio, which sees luxury in the wedding videography space as standing for high-end quality, cinematic-level production, and refined storytelling – all wrapped up in an exclusive service that champions polished results over standard coverage. As a result of the high standards the studio brings to its wedding videography services, Reagan Studios is today the official wedding videographer for several exclusive venues in and around Virginia, including the Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg. Such a prestigious status, coupled with the fact that it has more five-star reviews on the major review sites than any of its competitors, means betrothed couples trust Reagan Studios to get it right. Longevity is another big consideration in the wedding industry, especially since couples today are booking their celebrations as many as two or three years in advance. With private equity firms moving into the videography space, many couples may hire a wannabe videographer and pay them a deposit, only to learn as the wedding approaches that the person now has a new career. More than 15 years of delivering where it matters means clients have no such concern with Reagan Studios. Outside of weddings, Reagan Studios has proven itself in other areas of filming. Just some of the studio’s portfolio highlights beyond weddings include two remarkable impact documentaries that have collectively won over 15 film festivals - including Best Short Documentary at the Cannes Worldwide Film Festival for “Neptune’s Fallen Heroes,” a film about Navy Seals and their families. Today, the team are keen to focus more on travel-related shoots, be that a destination wedding, an expedition video, or anything in between. Having recently come back from a week-long trip exploring the Colorado River in the bottom of the Grand Canyon, it is clear there is nowhere this team of cinematographers and editors will not go for the sake of their art. Commitment to their craft on this level is what makes this team stand out. “Make art for yourself. If people like it, great. But create what you love.” Ultimately, whether it is working on a luxury wedding or in the middle of the wilderness, the dedication that Reagan Studios has to creating films that are loved by its team and perfect for its clients remains unflinching. Autumn 2026 | 9 Turning exceptional coca into mouthwatering chocolate, Čokoladnica Cukrček in Ljubljana, Slovenia, has been refining its knowledge and processes for more than 35 years. The team behind this luxury chocolate shop believe chocolate is not just a sweet, but an expression of craft, origin, and taste. This is why every bar made at its store is given the same attention a fine winery gives its vintage. Netting the title of Best Premium Chocolatier 2026 – Slovenia as a result, CEO Luka Bonotelli told us more about the brand and the precision that goes into every bit of chocolate. Luxury Chocolate in the Heart of Slovenia’s Capital fleur de sel. The price of these bars can reach up to €100 per kg, with its fruit pralines, all of which are made with freeze-dried fruit, similarly costing between €100 and €200 per kg. As for why the brand chose to enter this high-end market segment, Luka told us it was the only one where Čokoladnica Cukrček would be able to work without any compromises. Preserving its status amongst the top luxury chocolate producers in the world, Čokoladnica Cukrček has, over the years, hit a number of milestones that have secured its place in the conversation around which manufacturer is best. These include receiving three stars in the Superior Taste Awards, holding two Guiness World Records (the first for largest chocolate bar in the world in 2016 and the second for the largest chocolate flag in the world in 2018). But the highest praise undoubtedly came in 2008, when Queen Elizabeth II visited Ljubljana and praised the brands’ Prešeren Pralines, which she was generously gifted. As cocoa becomes more expensive and all actual chocolate, not that made with palm oil, becomes a luxury good, this chocolate shop in Ljubljana is confident in its ability to expand its stores beyond Slovenia, thanks to its franchise model. The franchise concept created by the team is viable for almost every market in the EU and beyond, and in those markets where there is greater purchasing power, Čokoladnica Cukrček will position itself at an ever higher level, with even greater quality and an even more pronounced luxury feel. Outside of its expansion, the brand also remains focused on the Chocolarium chocolate museum in Ljubljana, of which it is both a part and a partner for the products sold in the shop. This complex consists of the museum itself, as well as a chocolate workshop, a retail shop, and a patisserie, where gusts can order desserts made to their liking. The museum, which is interactive, aligns with Čokoladnica Cukrček’s mission of sharing the experience of chocolate. It too will hopefully expand through a similar franchising system. Ultimately, Čokoladnica Cukrček is many things, but above all it is a manufacturer of some of the finest chocolate Europe has to offer. As a result, we are delighted to recognise it here as the Best Premium Chocolatier 2026 – Slovenia. Contact: Luka Bonotelli Company: Čokoladnica Cukrček Web Address: https://cukrcek.si/ very bar of Čokoladnica Cukrček’s chocolate is crafted in the same way, with carefully selected beans, slow processing, a precise recipe, and packaging worthy of what awaits inside. This quality focus continues throughout the entirety of the brand’s offering, from selecting supply partners with only the finest raw materials to the ongoing development of its signature recipes. The purpose of all this is to offer an experience where the guest sees, tastes, and understands the journey chocolate goes on, from cacao tree to customer. “Our ambition is to place Slovenian craftsmanship alongside the best chocolatiers in Europe.” To ensure the essence of the brand is captured in every bar, Čokoladnica Cukrček focuses on uncompromising quality above all else. Luka explained: “A smaller batch is always better than a lesser chocolate. Every batch goes through sensory control; whatever fails to meet the standard never reaches the shelf.” There to safeguard that promise is the master chocolatier, who embodies the pinnacle of the 35 years of knowhow, handwork, and ability to know just when to temper that the team here constantly exude. Beyond this, the brand knows exactly where its cocoa and fruit come from, enjoys long-term relationships with its suppliers, treats traceability and fair sourcing as preconditions, and mixes heritage with boldness across its flavours. For Čokoladnica Cukrček, the luxury it delivers lies in mixing all of these things into delectable chocolate that is defined not by its price tag, but simply by the feeling customers have with every bite they take. That being said, Čokoladnica Cukrček certainly delivers chocolate fitting of its luxury status, from bars with local honey to bars with gold, truffles, or E

10 | LUXlife Magazine first introduction many families get to this local brand, and being able to offer them a stellar in-store experience, one that lays the foundation of their entire time spent trusting the brand, is incredibly rewarding for its teams. With these locations to boot, NOOLA remains equally dedicated to product development, engineering travel systems and nursery products suited to how South African families really live, and deepening the customer experience. Looking ahead, this means better education, a more robust after-sales service, and finding new ways to be useful throughout the parenting journey, not just at the point of sale. Longer term, this will position NOOLA as the brand that comes to mind every time a parent thinks of quality baby products. In today’s market, customers research thoroughly, read reviews, ask questions in community groups, and make considered decisions. This has been enormously good for NOOLA, because it has believed in products that speak for themselves since the first shipment arrived at its garage more than a decade ago. It is this that keeps parents buying its affordable luxury products, and sharing the brand’s message with those around them. In recognising NOOLA as the Best Luxury Baby Travel Systems Company 2026 – South Africa, we hope more people across the country will embrace the beauty of parenthood this brand stands for across its products, which can be viewed at the link below. Contact: Katherine Escreet Company: NOOLA® Web Address: https://www.noola.co.za/ OOLA®’s mission is to make beautiful and considered baby products accessible to families across South Africa, guided by the belief that becoming a parent should mark the start of something wonderful. Every product the company designs and every interaction the team have with customers stems from this principle, with NOOLA striving to deliver the kind of quality and consistency that means parents can trust what they have bought completely, meaning that is one less thing for their very full mind to worry about. As a brand, NOOLA is built on the values of warmth, safety, and honesty. It cares deeply for the parents who choose it, and the faith they put it in it is not something taken lightly. As Katherine told us: “Whether someone is buying their first pram or looking for nursery essentials, we want them to feel genuinely looked after, not just sold to.” This feeds into what luxury means for NOOLA, which is not about excess, but simply about getting it right. It shows in the details of every stroller, pram, car seat, and travel system this affordable luxury baby brand offers, from the feel of the materials to the functionality of the fold, and the way that the product still holds up after more than two years of daily use. These same standards also define the post-purchase experience, which NOOLA believes is just as much a part of the luxury tagline as the product itself. NOOLA, then, stands out because it sits in a space few brands occupy. Its products are genuinely beautiful and well-engineered, but actually accessible to families in South Africa. Parents recommend NOOLA to other parents because of the trust it nurtures, and the power of this word of mouth can be seen through the brand’s status as a market leader. Katherine explained: “We are not a niche import for a small segment of the market. We are South Africa’s most popular baby brand, and we are proud of that.” This feat has been achieved thanks to products such as the Elite Travel System, which many credit as the best baby travel system in South Africa. Designed for the country’s unique conditions, this all-terrain pram chassis boasts a built-in shock system and air-filled tyres, so it is just as smooth on an uneven outdoor path as it is on the floor of a shopping mall. The frame has also been expertly engineered to grow with a family, converting from a bassinet for their newborn into a comfortable seat for their toddler. Both the Elite Travel System and all of the other luxury nursery products and travel systems NOOLA sells can be seen at its physical stores in Cape Town and Pretoria. A visit to one of these stores is the NOOLA®: Excellence Made Affordable for South African Parents The story of NOOLA® began in 2015, with one mom’s quest to build the perfect stroller. This meant affordable, but with the features every parent wants. Bucking the trend of a cheaper product meaning lower quality, NOOLA has grown from a garage-based start-up to a brand serving affordable luxury across South Africa’s baby market. Katherine Escreet, marketing manager at NOOLA, told us more in the wake of it being named the Best Luxury Baby Travel Systems Company 2026 – South Africa as part of the 2026 Leaders in Luxury Awards. Autumn 2026 | 11 Best Events Venue 2026 – Oslo Choosing the right events venue in a city as beautiful as Oslo is no easy task. With dozens of hireable spaces to its name across its expansive events house, and more through its partner, Sentralen takes away this difficulty. Its building, an old bank, is remarkable and scenic at every turn, and the services of an expert team ensure every event goes smoothly. Nanna Flobak and Rikke Haakenstuen told us more about Sentralen following its recognition in our Hospitality Awards 2026. Occupying two joined buildings that were once the home of Christiana Sparebank, the first savings bank in Norway, Sentralen is a six-storey events house offering 30 hireable rooms. Based in the Kvadraturen area of Oslo, which is rich in history, the building was first purchased by Christiana Sparebank in the mid1800s, before it underwent a significant rebuild between 1899 and 1901. Expansions would take place throughout the early 20th century, with the building then reopening as an events house in 2016. The history of the location is so important as it is this which gives its event spaces their unique character. For example, Marmorsalen, the biggest of Sentralen’s spaces at a capacity of 1,000 people standing, is the bank’s old ground floor banking hall. To this day, it keeps the original stone floor and Fauske marble, has a ceiling that is nine metres high in places, and fantastic acoustics. It is one of Oslo’s largest concert rooms, and has been modernised through the likes of neon light installation and blackout curtain systems. This is just the beginning, and some of the other one-of-a-kind spaces housed within Sentralen include old bank vaults (the walls of which were built with railway tracks crossed through the masonry to protect against theft) that have been converted into studios and meeting rooms, as well as a rooftop bar and Restaurant Hitchhiker. Sentralen also hires four venues on behalf of the National Museum – Architecture down the road. Across all of these spaces, Sentralen hosts a variety of concerts, workshops, banquets, conferences, panel debates, award shows, meetings, and parties. Those who rent from it are primarily in the cultural, creative, and business worlds, and Sentralen will work closely with both these renters and the people who attend their events at its premises. When a client books a venue with Sentralen, they also receive an appointed producer who will assist them in managing the practical and technical details of their event. The teams behind this award-winning events venue have a decade of experience facilitating gatherings of every shape and size, from intimate weddings to major conferences with hundreds of people, and they leverage this to make every event truly unforgettable. Nanna explained: “We want to make a memorable experience by being a place that isn’t just venue rental. We want our guests and organisers to feel personally taken care of, and that they are in safe hands with us. We want them to feel like we go the extra mile to make sure that their event or visit with us is something they can cherish for a long time.” Upholding this is the common goal across the three teams behind the administration: sales and booking, marketing and communications, and production. Rikke added: “We aim to go the extra mile for our clients, making sure they feel taken care of by offering our expertise in areas where organisers may not feel as confident themselves. That could mean saying ‘we think this kind of setup would suit your vision best’ or ‘we’d recommend this kind of lighting’.” It is then up to the event hosts to take clients over the line. Proactive in making sure nothing goes wrong, any hiccups are handled quickly and professionally by these hosts, who reflect the positive attitude Sentralen itself stands for. This includes greeting guests with a warm smile, helping them find where in the venue they are going, and catering to their every need. With most of its staff being in the events space for years, they do this seamlessly, guided by a real passion for their work. Celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, Sentralen and its teams have been looking back at what they have accomplished over the last decade, and what the next ten years look like for the venue. Ultimately, they involve continuing to set the bar for quality events in Oslo, as well as maintaining the highest standards across everything from Restaurant Hitchhiker to its event programme. In doing so, Sentralen continues to be the go-to for those looking for venue rental in Oslo, a distinction we are delighted to reflect through this award. 12 | LUXlife Magazine Beautiful Holiday Homes and Memorable Experiences in the South of France When Englishman Simon Richards relocated to Provence in 2008, he was struck by the richness and beauty of the region. He came to know the finest properties both here and across the neighbouring French Riveria over the next few years, leveraging his eye for design to establish Provence Holidays in 2016. Named Best Luxury Villa Rental Company 2026 – Provence & the French Riviera, we caught up with Provence Holidays’ own Megan Pleva for more on its portfolio of private villas. Now in its tenth year of trading, Provence Holidays welcomes around 4,000 bookings every single year across the almost 600 homes comprising its portfolio. These luxury holiday rentals are managed by a team of 35 specialists working across six agencies in both Provence and the French Riveria. Combined, these figures make up a company dedicated to providing its clients with unforgettable holidays in the South of France. The company’s mission across these luxury villa rentals is to open the door to the real Provence and French Riveria for its guests, delivering escapes that reflect the elegance, refinement, and authenticity of both regions. Deep local knowledge comes first at Provence Holidays, with its team all living and working in these historic areas, meaning their every recommendation is both genuine and considered. Trust, reliability, authenticity, and curiosity are also key, with these principles keeping the company consistent. Before any of its luxury holiday rentals on the French Riveria join Provence Holidays’ hand-selected portfolio, they are personally visited by a member of the team, with each undergoing a rigorous vetting process against its own quality checklists. In essence, it all boils down to the team never listing a property they would not stay in themselves. The property itself is just the beginning, as the team behind these private villa rentals in Provence also curate unforgettable experiences, from private chefs and spa treatments to wine deliveries and cooking classes. They partner with local partners known personally across these offerings, people who take the same care Provence Holidays applies to its homes across their work. As Megan told us: “Luxury, to us, is only as strong as the least considered detail, so we attend to all of them.” As the market leader for luxury villa rentals in Provence, the company is proud of the fact that the luxury it stands for is personal and effortless. It is quality that sets it apart, not scale. Provence Holidays provides an end-toend service that few can match, something reflected through outstanding feedback by guests on both Trustpilot and Google, as well as wins and nominations in a variety of local and international travel awards. Even with the travel industry shifting and more guests choosing private villas over hotels, thanks to the extra space and freedom they provide, people are still expecting the same five-star hotel service within these private settings. This is why the company has doubled down on its aforementioned experience services in recent years, allowing it to bring the standards of a five-star hotel into the intimacy of its luxury private villas. With the strengths of this approach in tow, the next steps for Provence Holidays are all about deepening what it offers, rather than simply to grow larger. The company’s move into property sales is a fine example of this, with this now being a dedicated business in its own right, with sales agencies open in both Saint-Rémyde-Provence and Coustellet. Megan explained: “This rests on something no other agency in the region offers: a financially proven model, drawn from our own live booking platform, which shows a buyer the rental income a property can realistically achieve, with onward management by our team. More than 1,700 clients are already registered with this new business.” All of this comes on the back of what has been a year of momentum for Provence Holidays, which opened three new agencies, including one that is now its flagship on the French Riveria in Sainte-Maxime. A number of exclusive partnerships have followed, more of the finest homes in both regions have been added to its portfolio, and its online magazine – increasingly serving as a full lifestyle guide to Provence – now has more than 350 articles. Ultimately, this positions Provence Holidays favourably for future growth, and as it continues to offer luxury villa rentals and unforgettable experiences in the South of France, we are delighted to celebrate its achievements by naming it the Best Luxury Villa Rental Company 2026 – Provence & the French Riviera as part of this feature. He laid the foundation of his career at the prestigious Graff Diamonds in Hatten Garden, London, at the very heart of the UK’s diamond trade. This early exposure to diamonds, design, and the art of bespoke jewellery creation instilled within Gary a dedication to fine craftsmanship that has defined the course of his professional career. After building a wealth of invaluable knowledge in London, Gary decided to bring his expertise and vision to the New Zealand market. He established Meaden Master Jewellers and built the business into an award-winning studio specialising in bespoke engagement rings, wedding rings, and fine jewellery. He is joined by a team of dedicated professionals, bringing together more than 200 years of combined industry expertise and a dedication to world-class craftsmanship. Its team works closely with each client, taking them on a collaborative journey that begins with initial ideas and sketches and ends with a bespoke, handcrafted piece. Transparency and honesty are upheld at every step of the process, from design structure to material choices, ensuring that clients are creating pieces that feel both beautiful and practical. “One of the biggest shifts we have seen in luxury jewellery is that clients are becoming more involved in the process,” Gary told us. “There is

14 | LUXlife Magazine he story of Panadería Artiaga is deeply rooted in the journey of Antonio Rodríguez. Antonio came to Argentina at 13 years old, initially working in the countryside. When he lost his father three years later, Antonio suddenly found himself responsible for supporting his family. He made the decision to move to Buenos Aires, where he soon met Alba, the woman who would become his wife and lifelong partner. They worked tirelessly together for many years, holding as many as three jobs at a time, motivated by the dream of building a future of their own. They got that a taste of that when, alongside a business partner, they opened a bakery in the neighbourhood of La Boca. Close to the port, the bakery was in a lively area and constantly busy. But Antonio and Alba continued to dream of owning a bakery that was theirs alone. When they came across Panadería Artiaga, this dream started to finally to take shape. Initially, people warned them against the purchase, as the bakery was in a small neighbourhood and had far less activity than the bustling streets of La Boca. However, guided by their instincts, the couple made the courageous decision to proceed, and in the process shaped the future of their family for generations. Panadería Artiaga had opened its doors in 1931. Owned for many years by the Artiaga Family, the bakery offered only bread, biscuits, and croissants (medialunas) when Antonio and Alba fell in love with it and took it over. Through a lot of hard work and excellent customer service, the small bakery began to grow, and new products were soon introduced, including pastries, cakes, and then chocolates. Today, these products remain staples of a family business that has been running for years, and with the third generation of Jose Antonio, Juan Manuel, Heritage Craft Bakery of the Year 2026 Argentina has many exceptional bakeries, with the country’s baking culture being deeply influenced by the waves of European (especially Italian and Spanish) immigrants who have made their home here over the years. Antonio Rodríguez is one such figure, having moved from Spain to Argentina and supported his family through his Artiaga bakery and confectionery. Decades into the journey of this heritage family bakery, we caught up with Marisol Alfonso Rodríguez, of its third generation, for more on the past, present, and future of Panadería Artiaga. and Marisol, now contributing to its vision, Artiaga remains as dedicated as ever to serving quality baked goods to the people of Buenos Aires and beyond. This traditional Argentine bakery remains so popular because it has evolved with the times, without ever losing the spirit that has seen it diligently serve the local community for a staggering 95 years in total. What makes Artiaga so special is that it means something different to everyone. On weekdays, it is a great local place for people from across the neighbourhood. When the weekend rolls around, it transforms into a popular spot visited by people from all over the city. Then, on holidays or special occasions, such as around Christmas, Easter, or a family celebration, it becomes somewhere its customers rely on. People have been known to drive for hours to get their hands on its delectable products. Whatever Artiaga means to people, the common theme is that it is there. For almost all of its customers, it has been around their entire lives, and the bakery has even been known to serve families across multiple generations. Sometimes, it will prepare a cake for a child’s baptism, before being part of their 15th birthday years later. Later still, it might provide tasty treats for their wedding. Then, one day, that customer returns with a child of their own. And so the cycle continues, as it has for decades. Crucially, excellence at Artiaga does not mean perfection. Making mistakes is part of the work, and Marisol believes that if you are afraid to make mistakes, then you will stop trying new things. And if you stop trying new things, then you stop learning. Since the bakery is passionate about exploring new ideas, improving its processes, and never standing still, continuing to evolve remains a crucial part of its every day. A great example of this evolution and how Artiaga turns it into innovation came a few years before the pandemic, when it really started pushing transparency by showing customers what happens behind the scenes. This included sharing videos of its processes and explaining why it uses certified organic and agroecological ingredients. When lockdown happened and people began to take up baking and assess more deeply how food was made, they become more curious and demanding about the products they bought from stores. Since Artiaga had already demonstrated that it stood for the highest standards in the baking industry, it aligned with what customers wanted. Of course, given its esteemed history, there is a weight that comes with every innovation or decision made within this traditional Argentine bakery, which is very aware of the legacy that rests on its shoulders. Many would T
